Artist Bio - Joe Rangel
Joe Rangel, a Cleveland native, is a distinguished jazz guitarist and vocalist. Since 2006, he has played regional and national stages both as a solo performer and as a valued sideman, collaborating with numerous bands and vocalists in the greater Cleveland area and across the United States. Rangel stands out as one of Cleveland's few musicians adept in jazz guitar and vocals, notably with a seven-string guitar. His repertoire showcases a blend of American Songbook classics alongside his innovative arrangements and reharmonizations of popular tunes.
Artist Bio - Bob Fraser
Bob Fraser is a legend among Cleveland area jazz guitarists but his influence is felt around the globe. An applied guitar instructor for decades at the University of Akron and Cleveland State University, you can hear many of his successful students performing worldwide. Fraser holds a degree in engineering from Case Western Reserve University but chose to pursue music as his life’s passion. He has performed under such greats as Christoph von Dohnanyi and the late Pierre Boulez. For a number of years Fraser also played with the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra and still performs regularly at various jazz clubs throughout northeast Ohio with local musicians. During his long and distinguished career, he has supported musical greats including Luciano Pavarotti, Maria Schneider, Pat Pace, Carol Welsman, Benny Golson, Bill Dobbins, Ernie Krivda, Jack Schantz, Grover Washington, Jr. and the great Marian McPartland.
